On April 17, 2018 the Santa Rosa Police Department received a call regarding a young girl who disclosed a man had recently sexual assaulted her. Based on the circumstances of the incident, a detective from the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Team was immediately assigned to investigate. The girl, who is under the age of 14, was interviewed about what had occurred. She told the interviewer a male living in her home had made her get into bed with him, then touched her chest underneath her shirt. Because the girl could not return home until the suspect was arrested, alternate housing was arranged for her.
Detectives continued interviewing potential witnesses and gathering evidence in the case throughout the next day. Early this morning, detectives were waiting for the suspect to leave his residence in the 1500 block of Sebastopol Road. At approximately 8:30 AM the detectives saw the man driving away from the home. A patrol officer stopped the car and the suspect was arrested. The man was interviewed at the police department and subsequently booked at the Sonoma County Jail.
Arrested in this incident was Miguel Flores-Gonzalez, a 34-year-old resident of Santa Rosa. He was arrested on the following charge.
