Ukiah Police Department Press release:
On April 17th at about 3:20 am, UPD officers were dispatched to the intersection of Cochran and Helen Avenue, to investigate a report of a male subject asleep at the wheel. The vehicle was reported to be stopped in the middle of the roadway. Officers arrived on scene and located a black colored Chevy Impala. The vehicle was running and the driver asleep. An officer woke the driver and could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. While speaking with the driver, the officer suspected he was under the influence of drugs. The driver was identified as Joseph Angenete age 42, out of Willits. During the subsequent investigation, a loaded semi auto handgun was found, along with suspected methamphetamine, a meth pipe and marijuana. Angenete was placed under arrest for possession of meth for sale, transportation of meth, armed in the commission of a felony, armed prohibited person, possession of a controlled substance while armed and possession of a meth pipe. A record’s check revealed that the firearm had been reported stolen out of Georgia. Angenete was booked into county jail for the listed charges.
